2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: directly from you, automatically when you use our website, and from third parties who assist with our services.

Information You Provide Directly

• Contact details — name, phone number, email address.
• Service details — pickup and drop-off locations, vehicle make, model, year, color, license plate, and description of the issue.
• Payment information — billing name, billing address, and invoice amount. Full card data is processed directly by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
• Identity verification — driver's license photos and electronic signatures submitted with online payments to authorize the charge and prevent fraud.
• Communications — call recordings, text messages, and emails exchanged with our dispatchers and drivers.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device and browser data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system.
• Usage data — pages visited, time on page, referring URL, links clicked.
• Location data — approximate geographic location derived from IP address.
• Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5 for a full cookie disclosure.

Sensitive Personal Information

In some cases we collect information that qualifies as sensitive personal information under CPRA: driver's license numbers (identity verification for payments) and precise geolocation (pickup location provided for dispatch). We collect this solely to provide the service you requested and do not use it for advertising or profiling.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Dispatch a tow truck or roadside technician to your location.
• Communicate ETA, pricing, and status updates via phone, text, or email.
• Process payments, issue receipts, and resolve billing disputes.
• Verify your identity and prevent fraudulent charges or chargebacks.
• Comply with legal obligations including law-enforcement requests, CHP rotation requirements, and California Vehicle Code storage-notice requirements.
• Analyze and improve our website performance and user experience.
• Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (only with your consent for advertising cookies).
• Send service-related transactional emails (e.g., confirmation, invoice) and, only with your explicit consent, marketing communications you can opt out of at any time.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers acting on our behalf — Supabase (database), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payment processing), Vercel (web hosting). These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to perform services for us.
• Analytics and advertising partners — Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook Pixel), subject to your cookie preferences. This may constitute "sharing" under CPRA. See Section 9 to opt out.
• Insurance companies, motor clubs, and roadside assistance programs when they dispatched the service or are responsible for payment.
• Law enforcement, courts, and government agencies when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our employees or customers.
• Vehicle owners or lienholders when legally required (e.g., stored or impounded vehicle notices under California Vehicle Code).
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, personal information may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

7. Payment Processing & Stripe

Online payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you submit a payment, your card details are transmitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted TLS connection. We receive only a payment confirmation, the last four digits of the card, and the charged amount. We never see, store, or process full card numbers. Stripe is a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Their handling of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

8. Data Retention

• Service records and invoices — retained for a minimum of 4 years as required by California law and our insurance carriers.
• Identity verification documents (driver's license photos, signatures) — retained for 18 months after the service date, then securely deleted.
• Call recordings — retained for 90 days, then deleted.
• Website analytics data — retained per Google Analytics default settings (up to 26 months) or your cookie preferences.
• Contact form submissions — retained in our database for 2 years, then purged.

9. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA and CPRA. These rights are subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal obligations, fraud prevention).

We implement industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, role-based database permissions via Supabase Row Level Security, and PCI DSS-compliant payment processing via Stripe. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by California Civil Code § 1798.82.

12. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, contact us immediately at abtwng@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), we disclose the following:

• We collect personal information as described in Section 2 above.
• We share personal information with third parties as described in Section 4 above.
• Users who have provided personal information may request that we review or update it by contacting us at the details in Section 15.
• We honor Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals by not loading analytics cookies when DNT is enabled.
